Welcome to the Nile basin initiative regional public Library Website. Our pages provide comprehensive information about the Library resources and services as well links the NBI online libraries of the three centers the library also offers its users with access to scientific journals that we subscribe to for the benefit of the staff and our key stakeholders. Mission Statement The Nile Basin initiative Regional Public Library provides a wide range of valuable information materials and services to staff and its key stakeholders world wide. To fulfill this mission, the Library has two vital roles to fulfill the need of its users: that of partnership and provision. The provider roles are: - Circulating collections of current high-demand, high-information interest materials in a variety of formats
- Collections representing a broad spectrum of knowledge on a variety of subjects on cross cutting issues with in the Nile basin region and in a variety of formats
- Reference services providing timely and accurate information in a variety of formats with access from diverse locations
- Programs and services for all its stakeholders that encourage research, learning, and cultural enrichment
The partnership roles are: - To network with national and international river basin organization and university libraries in order so as to share and expand on knowledge.
- To coordinate the development of collections, programs, and services in water resources management among the Nile basin countries as well as other pertinent organizations.
- To cooperate with research agencies and Nile basin governments in providing relevant and timely information
- To facilitate the provision of formal and independent education support, including information literacy training, through outreach and other means.
